Contact Lens Policies

We value the health of your eyes. Contact lenses can cause complications, from simple to very serious, so we have developed these policies to help.

  1. For refilling contact lens prescriptions, we need to have a current contact lens prescription on file. We require that our patients have yearly examinations to keep their prescription current.
  2. To help with the occasional emergency, we recommend that each patient have a back-up pair of glasses in their current prescription.
  3. To help you with keeping your contact lenses current, we offer automatic delivery of lenses as well as a year supply of lenses. Ask about these services.
  4. We require payment for the entire amount of eyeglasses or contact lenses prior to ordering. We accept Visa and MasterCard as well as checks and cash.
Eyeglass Policies
  1. We rarely recommend repairing of eyeglasses as in our experience, it is only delaying the inevitable final breakage that cannot be repaired. However, in emergency situations, this may be necessary. Even so, please know that frames and lenses may break during the repair, and we can't be responsible for this.
  2. We recommend that almost all patients have a spare pair of glasses just in case. We've seen too many times patients with high prescriptions lose or break their glasses and have no spare! This can be the difference between taking time off work to get new glasses and being able to work.
  3. We require payment for the amount of eyeglasses or contact lenses prior to ordering. We accept Visa and MasterCard as well as checks and cash.
  4. We warranty all the frames we sell for one year against breakage. We will replace any lenses that have a scratch resistant coating once the first year. Any additional lens replacements due to scratching are at our usual fee.
Appointment Policies
  1. Please try to arrive for your appointment on time. If something happens that may make you late, please call the office. We'll check to see if you should come in or should reschedule to another time.
  2. Please bring your glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, and contact lens packaging (box, vial, etc.) and any eye medications you are taking to each appointment. While we may not use them each and every time, sometimes it's necessary to have a contact lens patient wear glasses home due to a procedure. It's easier if you have your glasses with you!
  3. Please bring insurance information with you to each appointment. It's helpful to have both vision care and medical insurance information during the appointment. And, if there are any forms you may need filled out for insurance, DMV, safety eyewear and the like, bring those along too.

New Insurance Policies
Due to changes in the way that insurance companies pay doctors, we have had to change our office insurance policies. We can now only bill insurance companies that we have specific contracts with. Contact the office if you have questions.
