Ultraviolet light from the sun can cause a whole range of eye conditions. There is particular evidence that cataract may be caused by the sun, and pinguecula and pterygia are eye conditions caused by ultraviolet as well.

Fortunately, today we can offer UV protection in your glasses, whether in sunglasses or your every day clear glasses. In fact, we make most glasses in our office out of lens materials that absorb 100% of UV light. That way our patients are protected.
