|With the impending start of new insurance with the Affordable Care Act, all of us need to be aware that things are changing. Here is what you need to know right now so that we can best take care of you at our office:|
The bottom line is if you're in doubt about your coverage, call us and we can help. And, we're going to be asking a few more questions when you call--sorry!
- The plan that you had last year may not be the same this year. Insurance companies and employers are changing things rapidly, and you need to pay attention to any notices that you receive. We can usually help you know if things are the same, so call the office. Sometimes, though, we can't tell so you'll need to call your insurance company.
- Some people have lost their coverage for routine vision care. In some cases, your medical insurance may cover services in our office, but sometimes it won't. Call the office and we can let you know if we think your coverage has been affected.
- In our California office, be aware that we are not providers for Medi-Cal, CMSP, or Healthy Families. The nearest locations that we know of that accepts these plans are in Chester, Susanville or Auburn.
- Medicare secondary plans are changing, too. We can let you know if this affects your care at our office.
